Spying with a Friend

I was afraid that we would be caught.  Even though we were hiding, Michael’s dad kept looking out the window.  We were serious spies and we were determined to know all of his activities and to not let him see us.
When I was in third grade, my friend, Michael, and I loved to spy on his dad. He lived across the street from me and we played together a lot.  One of our favorite things to do when we got together was spying.  We had a lot of spying instruments like binoculars, walkie-talkies, and other gadgets. We would always hide somewhere in the yard, like behind a tree or at the top of the tree in the treehouse. I would go inside the treehouse and he would stand below it, and we would talk through the walkie-talkie. Michael wore camouflage to blend in with the grass.
When we worked together, we were impossible to beat (maybe)! We had cat-like skills. We sprinted all around the yard. Every time Michael’s dad looked out the window, we hid. We had cool sun glasses on. I felt like I was an expert at spying. With my brains and his comical wit and awesome army training, we were the best and funniest spies in the spy unit. We had a lot of fun that day. When it was over we said are goodbyes and I walked across the street to my house. I learned that when you work together you can accomplish anything.
