Playing with Dolphins

I knew we would have fun when we went to play with dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium. It was the time of my life. Jared, Dad and I had so much fun. But to get our wet suits it took a long time. We had to wait on the longest line I’ve ever seen. We waited and waited and waited some more. Finally, we were in the front of the line. We got our wetsuits and went to the locker rooms. I went to the girl’s one by myself, while my dad and Jared went to the boys room. I wasn’t able to zip my wetsuit all the way up. When I got out of the locker room I asked someone to zip it up. I zipped up my dad’s wetsuit and we went to watch a movie about dolphins. In about six or seven minutes a woman came in and turned the movie off. She talked about the rules and where we can and can’t touch the dolphins. When she was done we got put into groups and I was in group 1. Our group was special because we got Echo, the son of the star, Flipper. We went in the pool. It was freezing because the dolphins needed it cold. We started playing. First we threw the ball to the dolphin. My brother got to throw the ball first. Then I went. One other person went, and then the teacher said that you now have the choice of passing the ball to Echo or to throwing it. After everybody threw or passed the ball to Echo, we did a handshake with Echo. We would go up one by one, and hold our hand out and Echo would come out of the water and give us his flipper. I went first. I held out my hand and he came out of the water and gave me his flipper. I held onto the flipper while the cameraman took a picture of me. Then Jared did the same thing as me. Everyone else went and then we moved on. Next was the kissing part of the event. We each kissed the dolphin. This time someone I didn’t know went up and help her lip to the top of the dolphin’s mouth, because the bottom part of her lip had cuts from the other dolphins. The cameraman took a picture. The rest of us went and did the same thing. Next, we stood as a family and the dolphins jumped behind us. My family went first. The dolphin did the wrong kind of jump but we didn’t care. After everyone had gone the dolphins raced. Some of them cheated so we don’t know who won. Then we got out of the pool. I had a great time swimming with the dolphins.
