I am from dog bones,
hair ties and bubbles
I am from Pia’s ravine
with scattered leaves and broken trees
I am from hydrangeas,
and the big oak tree in my backyard
I am from bunnies and uggabies
from Catherine and Phil
I am from, “Put your plate away!”
and “Drink your milk!”
I am from pearl onions,
cranberry sauce and salad
I am from below my bed
where the memories lay
in my dress box, with tiny shoes
and pictures I don’t remember making.
