Lady Liberty
She stands, saying "join us, join us."
welcoming people to our country
"come, come" she says "we want you"
people come surrounding her
the homeless, the poor, they wait
they wait for the world to call them
she beckons them to her
she stands day and night
decade by decade
century by century
and all that time she is calling
"Come"
