 The Time I Went Snorkeling

One day I was in Mexico and we were about to go on a boat and on it we were going snorkeling. Then we got on the boat I could feel the boat stating to vibrate. Then we started to move.  I was really excited but at the same time I was nervous. When we were in the middle of the ocean I didn’t want to go snorkeling but I just did it anyway. I jumped in the water and heard a splash. When my family and me were in the water we followed the director where ever he went. We saw all different find of fish it was the best time of my life. When we got back on the boat I said to my self that was awesome.

Fur

It was a warm and cozy night. I was having a sleepover at Val’s house. Val, Kobe, and I were on the bed.  We were all snuggling together.  Kobe’s head was on a super soft zebra stripe pillow.  I was rubbing his tummy.  Val and I were watching Cupcake Wars.  To me, Kobe’s fur felt like cotton candy, it was as delicate as a flower, and just touching it could take anyone out of their darkest mood with his luscious white-golden color of fur.

The Golden Egg
As Meghan tiptoed over to the kitchen she noticed a big flat tray of cookies next to the sink. The smell had sented over to my room. That was over to my room. That was what the chick was smelling. It was still dark outside when I heard a howl from the backyard.  It kept howling.  Then I could not help myself.  I looked.  It was ...  I couldn't see.  It stopped howling.  It was something red with perky ears.  It was a fox!  I ran upstairs to see what my egg was doing.  It was golden!  I ran downstairs telling everybody what just happened.  Everybody was so surprised some of them burst out in laughter.  Some even cried.  Then pink polka dots flew out.  Some even popped.  Her moms cheeks burst out. This is amazing said Meghan!
After that the egg hatched !  Mom I screamed .What. The egg hatched ! My mom ran as fast she could go.
Now she had pink polka dots on top of his head.
What do you want to name him?  I think pinky said Meghan.  Okay. When I walked over to the other door hiding outside was a egg.  There was a note on the back of the egg.  I ran inside mom I yelled I found another egg!  My mom was shocked her cheeks turned pink.  It was the second egg after all.  The next day I looked out my window.  I saw a beautiful big sun.  It felt like it was on top of my head.  I went outside and saw my third egg!
I went outside and saw my third egg!  I jumped upstairs two weeks later.  Both of the eggs hatched at the same time that morning.  Yipe yipe I ran downstairs. What is all that noise my mom asked? “Guess what” two of my eggs just hatched. Tomorrow we are going to see a movie about a scuba diver who got saved by a dolphin. I wished that I could see one more egg.

Summer Camp at Compo

It was hot summer’s day at Camp Compo. It was sunny with only one cloud in the sky.  The beach was crowded, especially for a Friday.  I was happy because Emily, Sasha and I were at camp together.  We went to the edge of the water to swim. I dipped my toe into the water.  It was so cool and refreshing. We took a few steps back and ran knee deep  into the water.
Our counselors called to us to warn us about jellyfish in the water.  I didn’t see anything.  Suddenly, I felt something wrap around my ankle.  I reached down and grabbed at it.  It was slimy and felt like tentacles.  When it brought it to the top of the water, I realized that it was only seaweed.  I felt embarrassed. Did my friends see how scared I was?  No, because they were playing in the water.

When I Got My Dog

When my parents told me we were getting a new dog, I was so happy.  We went to a house and my brother and I played with the puppies.  One puppy came to me and sat on my lap.  I said, “This is the one we should get!”  Then the puppy leapt off my lap and ran to my brother and gave him a lot of licks.  Then it ran back to its brothers and sisters and played with them.  When we left, my parents told me we were getting that dog.  “What should we name it?” I asked.  Then my mom came up with Oscar.  “I like that name,” my dad said.  “Us too!” said me and my brother.  The next morning, my mom called the lady. She asked if she could have Oscar ready by that afternoon.  My dad went to pick the puppy up.  When he came back, I ran to his car.  He got a box out of the backseat.  He took off the lid and a tiny face popped up.  I reached for the puppy and he let me hold him.  I love my dog!

Snow-worm

My dog, Shane, was a Snow-Worm.
When there was a huge snowstorm 2 years ago, he was a melted caramel, thrashing about in the diamond snow.
The squash of snow was light, and faint.
I was surprised that Shane could even breathe! I myself could barely walk.
Most of the snow was golden white, untouched, a still lake of beautiful, happy sorrow. But that lake had a rock thrown into it, my little Snow-Worm. Making thousands of ripples, Shane crashed into the Eternal Pond, in the Garden of Eden. A puddle of the juice of the Golden Apple, of Immortal Ambrosia.
But that Worm stopped that fairytale, that orange twang. He added a spank of citrus. I loved my dog, and I still do. He was the boing of the eye of newt, of daisy. My Snow-worm lives forever. Frosty, the icicle of a fudge pop, the fizz of perfect soda, the magic of the magic wand.
My dear Worm, frosty but not cold, Sad, but not unhappy, Never forgotten, but never remembered, My Snow-Worm, never forgotten, but never there.  He is my perfect chocolate magic, of a dog.

Saturdays

By far Saturdays are my favorite day of the week! That day I do the most things that are fun. I usually have a friend come over I almost always go to lunch with my family. I have a good time. We go to Shake Shack a lot on Saturdays. I order a Shack burger. Then we sit down. The place is usually as packed as a World Series baseball game. We eat and talk about what our plans are. Then we leave. I have great times!
Every Saturday I have something fun to do with my family. Whether it is lunch or bowling, it is fun. Saturdays are great days!

Field Day

Splash! Slip! Crash! its field day!!!  People are slipping down the water slide getting dunked in the dunk tank getting splashed with water and having FUN! Field day is a day close to the end of the year where there are all these fun games. There is a water slide a dunk tank limbo laundry games and many more. Classes are split up into teams so we can play against each other. One of the activities is well, I forgot the name but here is how you play. One person is sitting on a chair holding a bucket on their head. There is a big bin across from you. With small balls in them and in the bin also is water. And your team has to take them and squeeze the water out and when the cup is full you have to dunk it. That is one of my favorite games. Field day is a lot of fun and it is totally something to look forward to.

Electrical Cat Called Sparky

One day there was a cat that got hit by lightening in a big lightening storm. Sparky was walking down the road and met another cat named Bluey.  Bluey asked “ why are you so electrical?” Sparky said “well here is what happened.  I  was walking in the rain and then a lightening storm started. I did not know I was not supposed to be out in the rain while there was lightening. All of the sudden I got hit by a big bolt of lightening. Now I can make my own electricity and make my own toast.”

             BOX CARDS
One sunny day I was wondering what I should do.  I was looking through the Long Lots phone book and I said to my babysitter “What about Sophia?  I haven’t had a play-date with her in a long time.”  Jo, my babysitter said “sure” so we called no one answered.  So we waited for someone to call me.  Sophia’s mom called back.  I went to Sophia’s house.  When we got there I said what should we do?  She said let’s do arts and crafts” I said ok.  So we made “Box Cards” It was really hard but we did it here’s   how:
1.        We got a paper (brown)
2.        We made lines like this:

3.        We traced over the pencil lines with black marker
4.       We cut the edges  and ends so it look like this:
5.       We decorated
6.       We made it in to a box  (here’s  a story) We kept on trying.  We had tie  it with string.  It was impossible!  Then I had to go!! Right then and there Sophia did hers.  I said “can you do it for me and bring it in on Tuesday?”  Sophia said yes.  So she did and I shared it with the class.  It was so much fun!!

Last Summer

Last summer I was so excited because I was going to Norway to see my grandpa and grandma.  The best part was that Luke was coming.  Usually he does not come.  Even if he is a boy and one year younger than me at least it’s a friend, well more like a cousin.  Wait am I still dreaming?  I think I might be. “OUCH,” I woke up. I was just hit by my baby sister Nina and we just arrived at the shore in Norway.  I got out of the car.  I was still a little dizzy after the trip.  But as I got out I started to feel better.  I saw the ocean from the little island where I was staying in my grandparent’s vacation house and I could see all the way to the little city about half a mile away.  As I came closer I heard the soft sound of the rustling water and the sound of the motor boat whooshing past the dock.  As I looked back at the road I came from, I saw the long hill that we had driven down.  And the more I looked around the more I realized that a lot was different.  The dock had a fresh painted layer of wood and the road had a lot more rocks than last year.  “Either this place got a lot of changes or my eyes are still sleepy” I pointed out.  Everybody laughed.  After everyone stopped laughing, we all un-packed the car.  I didn’t really want to do all that work on vacation so I asked my grandpa if he could take me to the house so I could see Luke and Kyler my cousins.  Luke was one year younger than me and Kyler was one year younger than Nina so that makes him two years old.  But I don’t care how old they are I just wanted to see them.

                 Smoothie Attack

Plop, Plop, Plop.  In went the strawberries.  My mom was making a smoothie.  “Ruby, do you want me to make you sorbet or do you not want it?” my mom called.  “I am not hungry right now.  You can make a smoothie.”  I answered.  So my mom put in the plunger and started the engine.  Suddenly the half-made smoothie was not in the blender.  It was on the ceiling and on the floor and on the counter and on my mom’s favorite shirt.  My mom was frantically trying to turn off the blender but the switch was stuck.  When she finally turned off the blender smoothie was everywhere.  Then I burst out laughing.  I just could not help it.  My mom looked shocked at the mess.  I took a paper towel and stated to wipe off the mess.  When my dad came home from work, he took one look at the kitchen and starting laughing.  What a mixed up afternoon I thought.

The Horrible Fall

Can we go in the tree house? I asked. I’m at my friend Miranda’s house and I really want to go in the tree house. I just asked her if we could. She said only if we where rain boots. So we went inside and got our rain boots on. Just before we went back outside we heard the door bell we went to go and answer it. It was for Miranda’s bigger sister Arantxa. When Arantxa opened the door I saw my bigger sister Logan and her other friend Mia. Then we went outside and went up to the tree house. Arantxa, Logan, and Mia came up to. We climbed up the ladder and opened the door. Mia came up the trap door. Miranda told Mia to tell everyone else not to go down the trap door only to go up it. But Mia forgot and didn’t tell anybody. I was on my way to go down the trap door. But I didn’t know that I couldn’t go down that way. I opened the trap door and put my first foot down, and then I slipped and CRASH! I fell on my back. I started to cough weekly I got the wind knocked out of me. My sister asked Miranda what happened (Miranda was down there to) She said Rachel fell. My sister asked exactly how far? She fell out of the trap door, Miranda said. What! My sister screamed. Then my sister rushed down to see me. She asked me if I was ok I couldn’t speak. Miranda’s mom and dad came rushing out to. They asked me if I was ok I still couldn’t say a word. For weeks I was in pain my mom took me to the doctor to get checked. The doctor said to get some acupuncture It will help the pain go away. It really hurt a lot. But I knew I had to get it if I wanted to get better.

Giant Pandas

A pandas habitat is in mountains and forests in china. The reason pandas are endangered is people cut down the bamboo that they eat so most of them starve because bamboo is not very filling. Pandas are also endangered because people hunt them.
